Senior NX CAM Programmer
Full-Time | Multiaxis Machining & Customer Prove-Out
About the Role
Develop, optimize, and implement complex CNC machining programs using Siemens NX.
The ideal candidate combines advanced programming expertise with practical shop-floor experience, taking ownership of machining strategies, NC code verification, onsite prove-outs, and successful production implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize Siemens NX CAM programs for complex milling, drilling, boring, and multiaxis machining operations.
- Evaluate engineering drawings, GD&T, machine capabilities, tooling, and workholding requirements to establish effective machining strategies.
- Plan machining setups, cutting tools, parameters, and work offsets to improve efficiency and repeatability.
- Verify posted NC code through machine simulation and coordinate corrections with postprocessor and simulation specialists.
- Support onsite machine setups, first-article inspections, troubleshooting, and production prove-outs.
- Integrate on-machine probing, inspection workflows, and standardized programming practices.
- Prepare technical documentation, setup instructions, tool lists, and operator guidance for production release.
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens NX CAM and multiaxis CNC programming.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, workholding, GD&T, and machine operations.
- Experience verifying NC code, troubleshooting machining issues, and supporting production prove-outs.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, machine configurations, and inspection results.
- Experience working directly with machinists, operators, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong technical problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred: Large-part machining, horizontal boring mills, mill-turn operations, Siemens SINUMERIK or FANUC controls, NX Post Configurator, CSE/VNCK simulation, Zoller TMS, Renishaw probing, and Teamcenter.
